Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Matjark, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
Account Terms
- You must be 18 years or older to use this service
- You must provide accurate and complete information
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- One person or business may maintain only one account per store
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Matjark only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You may not:
- Use the service for any illegal activities
- Attempt to harm or exploit other users
- Interfere with or disrupt the service
- Reverse engineer or copy our software
Store Legal Responsibility
As a store owner, you are responsible for:
- Complying with Egyptian consumer protection laws
- Registering your business activity if legally required
- Collecting and remitting VAT if you are a registered taxpayer
- Displaying accurate business registration information
- Adhering to return and exchange policies in accordance with consumer protection law
The platform provides the necessary tools but does not bear responsibility for any store's failure to comply with Egyptian laws.
Subscription and Payment
- Free trial is available for 3 months with full feature access
- Subscriptions are billed monthly in Egyptian Pounds (EGP)
- You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time
- You can cancel your subscription at any time
Data Ownership
You retain all ownership rights to your business data. We do not claim any ownership over your products, customers, invoices, or other business information. You can export your data at any time.
Platform Attribution
The platform reserves the right to display a "Powered by Matjark" badge on storefront pages as an attribution to the hosting platform. This badge may be removed on premium plans.
Service Availability
We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance with advance notice when possible. We are not liable for any downtime or service interruptions.
Limitation of Liability
Matjark is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.
Prohibited Products
Selling the following products is strictly prohibited on this platform:
- Alcohol and alcoholic beverages — wine, beer, whiskey, vodka, spirits, and any intoxicating drink
- Cigarettes, tobacco, and smoking products — cigarettes, cigars, hookah, vape, nicotine products
- Pornographic or immoral content — any explicit sexual material or harassment
- Drugs and narcotics — cannabis, tramadol without prescription, controlled substances
- Weapons and ammunition — firearms, ammunition, explosives, bladed weapons intended for harm
- Counterfeit or fraudulent products — fake copies of known brands or forged goods
- Gambling products — casino games, betting, roulette, lottery
- Stolen products — any goods obtained through unlawful means
- Any products that infringe intellectual property rights, patents, or copyrights
Consequences of Violation
If prohibited products are discovered on the platform: (1) The account will be suspended immediately without prior notice. (2) Violating products will be permanently removed. (3) The account may be permanently banned. (4) Relevant authorities may be notified in accordance with Egyptian law.
Suspension Policy and Warning Levels
We apply a graduated warning system based on your store's health score before taking action. We aim to provide an opportunity for correction before suspension.
- Yellow Warning (score 60–79): An email notification with improvement recommendations. No account restrictions are applied.
- Orange Warning (score 40–59): An urgent email and in-app notification requesting corrective action within 14 days.
- Red Warning (score below 40): Immediate notification and a 7-day grace period to improve. After this period, the account may be automatically suspended.
Grace Period: 7 days from when the health score first reaches the Red level. You can avoid suspension by improving your score before the period ends.
Right of Appeal: You may appeal a suspension decision within 30 days of the suspension date. Contact us via email or WhatsApp with your reason for appeal.
Immediate Suspension: Accounts may be suspended immediately without prior warning for: violations of the prohibited products policy, fraud or forgery, and harassment or threats toward other users.
Reviews and Ratings Policy
We are committed to the authenticity and transparency of reviews to build trust between stores and customers.
- Verified Purchases Only: Customers may only leave a review after completing a confirmed purchase on the platform.
- Moderation: All reviews are moderated before publication to ensure they comply with community standards and do not contain offensive or misleading content.
- Fake Review Removal: We reserve the right to remove any review that is found or suspected to be fake, including purchased or coordinated reviews.
- Store Owner Responses: Store owners may respond to reviews in a professional and respectful manner. Abusive or threatening responses are not permitted and may result in account suspension.
- Disputing a Review: If you believe a review violates this policy, you may report it through the platform and we will review it within 5 business days.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms. You may also terminate your account at any time. Upon termination, you can export your data within 30 days.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the platform. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Cairo, Egypt.
